WalksWalk from Buckler’s Hard to Beaulieu (2 ¼ mile)

Stroll through the heart of the Beaulieu Estate on this scenic footpath between Buckler’s Hard and Beaulieu, which forms part of the Solent Way.

Starting at Buckler’s Hard, you will pass from woodland through to tidal river-edge grassland and into salt marsh. This gradual transition between habitats is rare in England and supports a wide range of plant and bird species: keep an eye out for wintering waders and wildfowl as you walk.

Finish the walk in the picturesque village of Beaulieu which offers a variety of shops and attractions, including a chocolate shop, art gallery, tea rooms and more.

Highlights:

Duke’s Bath House – see the small thatched cottage, built by George, Duke of Montagu for his son who suffered from arthritis.

Wonderful wildlife – Take a detour into the public bird hide at Keeping Marsh for a chance to see some of our indigenous wildlife, including Shellduck, Canada Geese, Oystercatchers and more.

Movie connections – Nearing Beaulieu, you’ll pass by Curtle Meadows where scenes for the 1966 film A Man For All Seasons were filmed.
