The 2¼ mile footpath between Buckler’s Hard and Beaulieu passes through the heart of the Beaulieu Estate and forms part of the Solent Way. The route passes from woodland through to tidal river-edge grassland and into salt marsh.
It supports a wide variety of flora and fauna, particularly wintering waders and wildfowl.
Highlights include Curtle Meadows where scenes for the film 'A Man for All Seasons' were shot in 1966, artwork the Fence commissioned for the South Bank Centre in London, and of course extensive plant and bird species.
Beaulieu village is very picturesque and popular with local tourists. It has a variety of unique shops including a delicatessen, tea rooms, a garden centre, teddy bear shop, and chocolate shop.
