Deputy Harbour Master Adam Lewis has worked with the Beaulieu River team to create a new design of safety ladder which make rescues from the water even safer.

The first apprentice at Buckler’s Hard Yacht Harbour has been shortlisted as a finalist for the inaugural British Marine Apprentice of the Year award.

Former mooring holder Steve Poole has captured the character of the Beaulieu River and the team who work there in stunning photographs for his new book and exhibition.

Miguel, the Alexandrine parrot, who joined the Beaulieu River team last year, decided that he was due some annual leave. Last Thursday, as the team were getting ready to close the Harbour Master’s office for the day, Miguel escaped and flew off into the evening sunset.
